The Computer Modeling Laboratory [CMODLab] is based in the Department of Informatics of the Ionian University and is created to cover the educational and research activities of students and staff of the Department in the following subjects: Interdisciplinary fields of Informatics and in particular in the field of Applied Stochastic Models to state-of-the-art complex systems problems, knowledge Management Technologies and Digital Audio and Video Processing Technologies, stochastic User Data Analysis, stochastic Dynamic Variation Prediction Models, stochastic Data Analysis and Stochastic Models for Ecology, Biodiversity, Precision Agriculture and Natural Disaster Studies.
The laboratory's mission is to: extensive coverage of the teaching and laboratory needs of the Department at undergraduate and postgraduate level in courses related to its subject area. Conducting basic and applied research in the field of laboratory knowledge, through the preparation of undergraduate theses, postgraduate and doctoral dissertations, and dissemination of research results through the organization of seminars, conferences, seminars and lectures as well as lectures and conferences in valid scientific journals. Attracting resources in the execution of research projects and the provision of specialized services to private and public sector bodies. Attracting high-level undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as post-doctoral researchers, from Greece and abroad. Active participation in postgraduate programs of study. Developing research and educational collaborations with other Universities and Research Institutions in Greece or abroad that develop similar or related activities.
