Professor of Biochemistry Aaron Ciechanover, winner of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry (2004), will visit Athens in response to an invitation by Professor Panayiotis Vlamos, Director of the Bioinformatics and Human Electrophysiology Laboratory (BiHELab) of the Department of Informatics of the Ionian University.
BiHELab, inspired by the revolutionary advancements in the field of personalized medicine, as well as its research on the elucidation of pathogenic factors in neurodegenerative diseases, invited Prof. Ciechanover to deliver an open lecture entitled: "The Personalized Medicine Revolution: Are We Going to Cure All Diseases and at What Price?", on February 23rd at the Eugenidou Foundation (19:00).
Professor Ciechanover’s visit in Athens is one of the satellite events of the international conference Genedis 2018 "Genetics, Geriatrics and Neurodegenerative Disease Research" (www.genedis.eu), which will be organized for the third time by BiHElab, this time in Toronto, Canada, October 25-28, 2018. BiHELab, a modernly organized laboratory equipped according to European standards, aspires to become a pioneering research center for scientific applications within the framework of personalized medicine.
The event is coordinated by biologist-journalist Vasos Michopoulos.
