"Security and Privacy Issues with Health Care Information Technology".

This presentation explores the privacy and security implications of health care technologies, examines existing methods for handling the relevant issues, and discusses which concerns need further consideration.
Speaker Short Bio:
Noushin Ashrafi, Ph.D., is a Full Professor of MIS at the University of Massachusetts in Boston. She has been an active teacher and scholar in the Information Systems discipline since 1989. She has conducted seminars and workshops in the U.S., Europe, Mexico, Russia, and China. Dr. Ashrafi has developed and taught courses both in information systems and production operation management disciplines. She has taught Object Oriented System Analysis and Design for the last four years at both graduate and undergraduate levels. During this time she has carefully tested the concepts presented in her recent book "Object Oriented System Analysis and Design" — published By Prentice-Hall/Pearson Inc. — in her classes and implemented the feedback from her students in the book. Dr. Ashrafi’s industrial experience includes consulting for some large corporations in Massachusetts and abroad.
Dr. Ashrafi’s research fields include application of operations research and management science tools to measuring, controlling, and predicting the reliability of conventional software and expert systems, software process improvement, and security and privacy issues in e-Business. Her most recent research focuses on IT capabilities for business agility. Her publications have appeared both in technical journals such as IEEE Transactions and IT management journals like Information and Management, Journal of Database Management and The Journal of Information Technology Management.
