His research interests focus on computer science education, digital technologies in education, Artificial Intelligence and learning analytics, distance education, educational neuroscience, and the transformation of knowledge in digital and human-centred learning environments.

From August 2023 to May 2026, he served as Chair of the Governing Board of the Institute of Educational Policy (IEP), during a period of significant educational policy initiatives for schools, educational content, teacher professional development, the Digital School, Artificial Intelligence in education, inclusion, evaluation, the internationalisation of school education, and European collaborations.

He completed his undergraduate studies in Mathematics at the University of Patras and the University of Amsterdam, with a scholarship from the Hellenic State Scholarships Foundation, and holds a second degree in Informatics from the University of West Attica.

He has completed postgraduate studies in Computer Communications and Networks at Leeds Beckett University in the United Kingdom, in Basic and Applied Cognitive Science through the inter-institutional programme of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Athens University of Economics and Business, as well as Studies in Education at the Hellenic Open University.

After receiving his PhD in the field of education, with an emphasis on digital technologies, from the University of the Aegean, he completed postdoctoral research in educational neuroscience at the Ionian University.

He has actively participated in numerous research, European and development projects in various institutions, including the Hellenic Open University, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and the National Technical University of Athens. He has also contributed to projects of the Institute of Educational Policy as scientific coordinator, member of working groups, and collaborator in the development of curricula, teacher professional development, and the creation of educational scenarios.

The results of his research have been published in international journals and conferences. He is also co-author of the school textbooks “Introduction to the Principles of Computer Science” for the 2nd grade of General Lyceum and “Mathematics” for the 5th grade of Primary School, as well as three books used in higher education.

He has worked as Head of an Academic Department and teacher at The American College of Greece, as Special Advisor for teacher professional development at the Institute of Educational Policy, and has taught in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the Hellenic Open University, the University of Thessaly, the former Technological Educational Institute of Athens, ASPETE, and the Hellenic Police Academy.
