This special issue shall shed light on new developments and implementation of soft computing in the fields of engineering, applied science and theoretical research. All interested researchers, academicians, engineers and scholars are invited to submit current research works in the field of artificial intelligence, including relevant applications in solving optimization and modeling challenges using computational intelligence.

Based on the quality of the work presented, selected papers of the workshop will be invited for consideration, in a revised and extended form, for inclusion in the following Special Issues

The Department of Informatics, Ionian University organizes the first "Corfu Innovation Summit" in the context of the research and development project PACiNNO - Platform for trans-Academic Cooperation in Innovation, which is co-funded by the European Union (IPA-Adriatic CrossBorder Cooperation Programme 2007-2013). The conference will be held on 5-7 October 2015 in the premises of the Corfu Holiday Palace Hotel in Corfu.
