The role
Responsibilities:
- Supervises all phases of the construction process
- Collaborates with architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Assists in creating and tracking budget for all assigned developments
- Plans and monitors projects, prepares project plans and manages risks, including the development of contingency plans, issues, and dependency logs
- Performs site safety inspections on developments in construction
- Performs contract control
- Performs payment certification
- Updates project schedule; ensures project quality control and establishes overall project logistics
- Provides weekly and monthly reporting on development operations
Qualifications/People characteristics:
- 5 year degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or relevant field
- Approximately 3 – 5 years of professional experience in a similar position, ideally in the Retail industry
- Experience in quantity surveying (costs & contracts)
- Experience in all areas of construction, from design to completion
- Experience in writing reports in English for senior management
- Knowledge of budgeting and expenses forecasting
- Expert in AutoCAD – ArchiCAD, MS Project and MS Office
- Excellent use of the English language, both written and oral
- Critical thinking with the ability to discern key issues and find solutions to problems
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness
- Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines
