Master’s Administration

For the organization and operation of the Master Program of the Department, the competent bodies are the following:

  1. The Assembly of the Department which is responsible:
    1. for the appointment of the Director and Deputy Director of the Master
    2. for the appointment of the Coordinating Committee (C.C.) of the Master, whose members are the Director and the Senior Director
    3. for the appointment of the Supervisor and the remaining two members of the Three-Member Examination Committee of each individual project (capstone project) of the Master
    4. for the approval of the assignment of Diplomatic Theses
    5. for the definition of Candidate Evaluation Committees
    6. to validate the tables of winners
    7. for the awarding of postgraduate diplomas
    8. for the assignment of the teaching of Master courses, as prescribed by law
    9. to determine the start and end dates of the courses as well as the examination periods.
    10. for any other matter provided by individual provisions
  2. The Director of Master
    1. The Director of Master Program belongs to the rank of Professor or Associate Professor and is appointed by the Assembly for a two-year term with the possibility of one renewal.
    2. The Director of Master Program presides over C.C. and recommends to the Assembly every matter concerning the effective implementation of the Master
    3. The Associate Director also holds the rank of Professor or Associate Professor and is appointed by the Assembly for a two-year term with the possibility of renewal. Substitutes the Director in all his duties in the event of an obstacle.
  3. The Coordinating Committee (C.C.) of the PMS
    1. C.C. is defined by the Assembly and consists of five members of the D.E.P. of the Department, who have undertaken postgraduate teaching work.
    2. Members of C.C. is the Director and Senior Director of the Master Program
    3. The Director of Master presides over C.C.
    4. The members of C.C. appointed by the Assembly, for two years, with the possibility of renewing their term.
    5. C.C. is responsible:
      1. for monitoring and coordinating the operation of the Master
      2. for the proposal to the Assembly of postgraduate students to be selected after proposals of the E.A.Y.
      3. for the introduction of issues related to the Master in the Assembly with the Director taking charge of the proposal
  4. The Senate of the Ionian University and any other body of the institution is defined by its decisions as well as by the law.
